New Construction
Infill homes and townhomes — what to verify about the builder, the lot, and the warranty.
Updated 2026-10-18
New construction is not 'historic', even when designed to blend in. It can offer modern systems and layouts. Evaluate builder history, warranty terms, permits, and drainage.
What to check for any property
- Parcel, zoning, and any historic designation.
- Flood status for the parcel — not inferred from elevation or a nearby greenway.
- Age and condition of roof, foundation, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- HOA documents, if any.
- Actual walking routes to transit, if transit matters to you.
